Old Newsletter Help
« on: Feb 07, 2012 »
Hi All:
I'm looking for some help from the really OLD Sonerai builders and flyers out there.  By OLD I mean those guys who've been involved with Sonerai's since the beginning, like 1972 or 1973.  Starting when I bought my plans in 1976, I have received all of the newsletters published by John and Betty Monnett as Monnett Experimental, and then INAV Inc until they went out of business in 1986.  I have digitized all of these newsletters, and will eventually donate all of these old newsletters, plus all of the Sonerai Newsletters, to the EAA Museum.  What I am looking for are copies of any newsletters that were published before 1976.  If you have copies of any of these newsletters, please contact me.  I'd really like to have a complete set, so they won't be lost to the passage of time.  Thanks.

That's a great initiative.  Unfortunately, I'm the rookie around here, so I can't help much.

Fred.....Sorry,  spent two hours going thru everything that was saved.    The fire must have gotten them.....
I have newsletters from Ed Sterba on, but not all issues...I am famous for giving them away when anybody shows an interest in building a Sonerai....Hope a few other 'old timers' can look thru their stuff....Ed

Hi All:
I thought I give you a quick update on my "Old Newsletter" project.  Thanks to Steve Baldwin from the UK, I now have copies of the original Monnett newsletters back to mid 1973.  The earliest one is marked Vol. 2, No. 2, which means that I'm still missing the 1972 letter(s) and one 1973 letter.  These are a fun read, particularly the insite into the development of the Monnett Experimental business, and the things that were tried on the early Sonerai I and the prototype Sonerai II.  Steve also sent a 1974 brochure and catalog.  The prices will make you cry.  Anyway, I'm still looking for the very first issues, so if any of you know any of the first Sonerai I builders, who might have these newsletters ferreted away somewhere, please let them know what I'm looking for.  I'd really appreciate it.  Thanks.
