upon getting my project home I found the plate where the info is.I found taht my plane was constructed in 1976 and its a Sonerai IIB
My question is...what exactly does the B stand for?

The "B" is most likely the wing mod. The b wings have 11 ribs and the reinforced spar, the ribs will be flanged in opposite directions. The next wing was the S wing. Same spar, but the ribs are all flanged the same way. Fred K. does a great job explaining this on another thread a few months back.
