My aircraft data plate indicates that the aircraft has a Continental engine that produces 80 HP. It also specifies the empty and maximum weights of the aircraft. The maximum weight did not change but the remainder of that information is no longer correct. It now sports a Revmaster engine and the empty weight has dropped significantly.

Am I required to alter or replace the data plate? The required information (Builder, Model, and Serial Number) are still correct. Can I just leave it be?

Disregard my last....

I just got off the phone with the EAA. I can keep the original plate or replace it with my own. All that matters is that the big three are correct...Builder, Model, and Serial Number. I would recommend using the EAA standard plate and not providing any additional data that may be subject to change.

All the best,
Chucker
