Yes I have made my fuel tank. I wanted the filler at the front of the tank and bigger with a better filler plug also then made a nose plug and cowling form over that. what it takes is a good welder at a affordable rate and about three trips to the weld shop, I should have taken photos can send s photo of the finished tank. It was less cost out of pocket back then not counting my labor. let me know if I can be of any other help

I can send you my tanks size and also the store bought size just need a few days for photo, you will have to search the posts for what material to use. I also wanted more fittings for possible fuel injection and a fuel guage

FWIW I made a pair of Hoerner wing tip/tanks for my S2LS. They breakuo wingtip vortices and mine hold say 7 gals total, so they add another hour plus fuel. There is a glassed in compartment adjacent to the nav lights.

Hi Larry,
I have fuel tank flat pattern drawings for the Sonerai II Original and Sonerai II Stretch main fuel tanks, and the aux tank. They were created by Steve Bennett several years ago. I have them as .pdf files, so I can email the ones you need. Just send me an email at fredkeipATaolDOTcom. Fred

I also recovered the fuselage fabric so painted it all in Stewart Silver. The Hoerner tips are partly masked but it does show them in place. The green tape on top cover the refueling panel.
