I.m doing some duel these days for a new pilot. But we are communicating using 2 portables.
Also I don't have an exhaust on the Jabiru 3300 engine,
So I want to know which intercoms you guys use and how you rate them. Especially for Noisy environments.

The best portable intercom I've ever used was RST's little 2 place DIY kit. I used the heck out of that thing in flying club aircraft before headsets and built in intercoms became de rigueur.

I think the next best is probably the Flightcom IISX.

Sigtronics Sport 200 is an excellent high noise environment intercom. I've used them in several airplanes. Certainly panel mounted intercoms greatly cut down the wires running around the cockpit, no batteries either.
