If weight is everything? Isn't the extra HP of a 2180cc engine just compensating for the extra weight of the engine? Or dose make a notable improvement in performance? What are the pros and cons of the 1850cc and the 2180cc?

Just my opinion. But, a 2180 can be kept light, with only a small increase in weight over the 1835. But, what seems to happen is folks want to add a starter and a full size battery, a complete instrument panel and radios and lights and an ELT.

If you want to keep it a light, day VFR fun flyer and stay out of rule airspace, the 20 extra horsepower is absolutely worth a couple of extra pounds.
