Built in 1975 By the late Charlie Terry from plans set 00025.
Flown and raced from then till 1988, when an in-flight fire ended its career for a while.
Originally powered with a 1600c.c. VW, and used a special Catto/Terry 48" prop.
Estimated T.T. 350 hrs.
Basic instrumentation, Very light, under 500 pounds when new.
Acquired 12/2012 by Ed Fisher from Terry Family.
Full restoration is planned for this famous record setting Formula Vee.
Beetlebomb was the first of the faster Sonerais. Charlie and Beetlebomb were the force that practically started FV, and kept it alive in the lean beginning years of the 1970's and 80's.
My plans are to restore it to its original overall appearance, with some upgrades learned with other FV aircraft, such as Blueberry #77, since the '80s. This racer will be used in Supervee Air Sports Competition when completed.
