This Sonerai 2LS project was begun several years ago by Dennis Tyson, who completed welding on the fuselage, tail feathers, and most control surfaces, in addition to building the spars and forming the ribs. I inherited the project from Dennis about 2 years ago and have mostly completed the wings, made the turtle deck, plus a few other minor things. I am presently working on hanging the gear, installing the canopy, and modifying the engine mounts to fit the engine which I purchased, which is a 2180 Aerovee, with an Aerovee accessory case. Work on the project is slow due to limited time and money, but it is still progressing!

Thanks for the encouragement! It is, indeed, a marathon, where I have to remember to just take another step.

I made my first cuts on my 2L’s wings on New Year’s Eve 1984! First flight last September 23!
