Can anyone explain the elevator push-rod design? The plans call out an AN 490 threaded insert----problem is that for a 5/8" diameter tube the insert has 5/16-24 threads and the clevis ends (attaching to the elevator horn) have 1/4-28 internal threads. Also, the plans change section says to flatten the end of the tube (presumably the end attaching to the mixer), weld on plate and washers. OK, the tube must be able to rotate to accommodate the movement of the control mixer how does this design allow that? Seems to me that you must incorporate a rod bearing somewhere to account for the rotation. I appreciate any feedback.
