As most of you know, the engine mount locations shown in the plans for any of the Sonerai II's are dimensioned to suit the Monnett X-mount. Every so often, I get a request for the correct mount locations for the standard Diehl case, or the Revmaster, AeroVee, HAPI, or Mosler engines. As it turns out, the Standard Diehl case, the Revmaster, and the AeroVee use the same locations. The HAPI and Mosler engines use the same locations (but are different from the Diehl/Revmaster). To save myself some work, and to provide the information to those of you who are just getting started, or are thinking about modifiying your fuselage to suit a different engine, I've attached drawings of the two different mounts.

Indeed a living international treasure.
Its easy to forget how difficult it would be to achieve any thing without the experience of our "Guru's"
In aviation you don't generally live long if you insist on making your own mistakes to learn from.
I learned today that I am not getting any Carbon Monoxide in my cockpit yet. :)

Hi Fred,

After reading your post I went out to look at my mounts and engine case. Turns out I have the Diehl case, but Hapi mounts. Is it easier to put on a Hapi case (where can I get one?) or to move the current engine mounts?
Or is there a better solution?

Since the HAPI rear mounts are getting hard to find (I haven't seen many available on the various "for sale" sites lately), and the replacement parts for the alternator and mag drive coupling are even harder to find, I'd recommend moving the mounting lugs on the front of the fuselage.
