To me, Saturday was the official start of my Sonerai project as I say farewell to my BD-4 project.

Then buying the first materials for the Sonerai (I-Joists to build jig table).

Been trying to work on the project every chance I get and have made a bit of progress. I now have one fuselage side completely tacked and the other tacked on one side ready to pull off the jig.

Had a great weekend. Went to the Contact Magazine event at French Valley and got some work done on the plane.

Checking in again with a bit more progress. There just is not enough time to get much done. At this rate it will take forever to build, but I must keep going.

Now if I can just find a good recipe for rotisserie airplane I can start welding up the clusters.

Awesome!!!

I figured out a good recipe for rotisserie airplane. Unfortunately I have to work tonight so I am not going to be able to turn on the heat yet. :(

Not a bad weekend. Finished welding all the clusters in the basic structure then broke out the big torch and stress relived everything. It can get really hot in the garage when heating all that tubing and keeping the doors closed to prevent any airflow over the hot metal. Want it to cool nice and slow for stress relief.

Now to figure out what to do next.

Well it's now my airplanes 3 month anniversary.

I've got a fair amount done but still feel as though it is going at a snails pace (probably because I just want to fly).

So far I have the basic structure finish welded, seats frames done, rudder pedals and control sticks fabricated and installed and horizontal stabilizer installed. Now it's back on the rotisserie for finish welding of the newly installed items.

Unfortunately I wont be able to work on it for the nest 12 days as I am going to Texas to visit our son and then on a cruise for 7 days. The good news is I will have nearly a week of build time when we return before I have to go back to work.
