I am starting a Sonerai ii LS. The materials list gives me the number of feet of tubing I need. But, I was wondering if anyone has a tip on ordering the lengths. Anybody have any suggestions? Should I take the full length pieces from the supplier? Should I request number of lengths of a certain length to avoid waste? I know some of the shippers won't charge to cut to a UPS deliverable length. Any tips would be helpful.

Thanks.

Its good to order some extra because you probably will make a few mistakes and its nice to be able to just start over right away and not have to wait for another order. As well its cheaper in longer legnths and you will probably save money by not have to ship multiple orders.

Good tip. Thanks. I can always use extra for other projects. I have two cars under restoration and a cycle project. 4130 is a good material for the cycle project, but the sizes for the aircraft are generally smaller diameter and longer runs.

I generally don't want splices so I'd like longer lengths. But, also realize that ordering lengths longer than generally required may leave me with a bunch of cut ends.

Thanks again.

I was thinking of subdividing the material list into a sub-list by lengths.

Any idea if there's a supplier of pre-cut tubing for the IILS? I know Cartiens (sp) lists the 1, but none of the others.
